Intelligence and talent are different from mindset and grit. Not everyone is extremely bright or talented but anyone can have passion, effort and a positive mindset which can lead to success. It was a difficult time, I didn’t have friends, and adjusting to a brand new school and culture wasn’t a piece of cake. In those hard times I needed to stay positive and believe that everything would be “okay”. I worked very hard to reach my goals, and here I am today fluent in a third language. Without grit and mindset I wouldn’t have done it.
Carol Dweck once said “What did you learn today? What mistake did you make that taught you something? What did you try hard at today?”. These are good questions, obviously everybody makes mistakes, and we should learn from them. Often times we give up when things don't go our way, instead we need to have a positive mindset and try again.
