Buttercup has changed throughout the story and she has gotten more character.Buttercup finally gets her true love that she has been fighting for all along. She has gone from Peasant to Princess real quick and she has been through a lot, from Westley falsely dying twice and Humperdink not agreeing with her decision. The decision was for her to stay with Westley and not marry Humperdink. Buttercup vowed her life to protect Westley and to defeat Humperdink and keeping the love of her life. Buttercup has been through it all and has made friends through her fight to maintain her one true love. Fezzik and Inigo Montoya weren't her friends at first. They actually kidnapped her in the middle of the book.(goodman Ch. 5)Westley actually friended them first because Inigo wanted revenge on the man with 6 fingers. So Westley and Inigo decided to team up and defeat the man with 6 fingers and Humperdink. Buttercup was saved by them and she helped them defeat both the 6 fingered man and Humperdink and they rode off together. Buttercup is a round character which means she changed throughout the story. This is why I enjoyed reading this book because she became a strong independent women at the end and found her true
