While the changes that the world will undergo in the next decade or so are hard to predict, I believe that there will be some constants. For example, I am sure that employers will still want employees who are well-educated and well-rounded, and that they will also want employees who possess perseverance, drive, and a sharp curiosity. A great deal of what attracts me to USD are the traditions that are imbued in this institution, ones that, even as a follower of Islam, I share. For instance, I believe in equality, integrity, and character, and subscribe to the notion that all men and women should strive to improve themselves. Attending a school that shares these beliefs will allow me to strengthen my own even as I am surrounded by students who, based on their unique backgrounds, customs, traditions, and viewpoints, will challenge me and force me to reflect on why I believe as I do.
