The story “Woman Hollering Creek” by Sandra Cisneros, is about a woman, Cleofilas, who lived in Mexico most of her life until she married Juan Pedro. They moved to America, Pedro’s home, and started a family. Even though Cleofilas was married, she was not happy. She was a woman who wanted to be loved as she had seen in the telenovelas, her husband bringing home flowers to her after work or him telling her how beautiful she was, but her husband never did that. The men in the story were awful to all the women. They would treat them as if they were objects.
