A lot of students find ways to make money from summer jobs, or summer internships, for something they love to do. Having shorter breaks means that students have less time for this, leading to several repercussions. With these shorter breaks, students face only a limited amount of job opportunities, as employers prefer hiring individuals available for longer periods of time. This would affect their college resumes, potentially impacting their future employment. “For high school students, year-long school eliminates the possibility of earning income at a summer job or having a summer internship experience before they return to school,” says Danielle Page.
