The American Revolution: A Concise History is a great resource for those hungry for knowledge or that simply have to pass their College History class. This book is about one of the most important events in American History. The author leaves no corner unturned. In his book, Robert Allison, speaks of what lead up to the war, what went on after the war and what happened after the end of the Revolutionary war. The American Colonists who made the journey to escape the forcefulness of the crown were the intended audience. It helped raise moral and understanding in words they can understand. This pamphlet is a great primary source to use because one can read Thomas Paine’s thoughts at the time compared to text from a website in someone else’s opinion who was not alive for the American Revolution. Common Sense shows bias in favor of the American colonists because he favored independence and opposed Great Britain. This is just one man’s work and opinions and as for finding another source, it may be recommended. Not to replace this one but as an aid. This is a primary document because it is a soft copy version of the actual act. The information came from the Yale Law School Lillian Goldman Law Library. A tremendously credible source for primary documents. The intended audience for this were the American colonists. The Boston Port act was passed in response to the boycotts, protests and the Boston Tea Party, led by Samuel Adams and disgruntled colonists. It gave the British East India Company the right to sell tea and blocked the harbor off to other ships aside from the humanitarian vessels. The Boston Port Act was definitely in favor of the British party. This would be the best source to go to because it allows you to cut through fluff or mislead information other websites may provide to the
