In the speech that Angela Davis makes that at Medgar Evers College, Davis gives credit to Lorde through the speech about the importance’s that she has made in the feminist thought and the praxis. One of the most important ideas that she brings up about Lorde is that unity does not require being identical. Meaning, that you do not have to be a part of a certain class, race, or sexual orientation to be a person that care about the issues that minority groups face on a daily basis. Due to the fact that Lorde was able to show her importance as a black lesbian feminist change the ideas about radical feminism that was seen during the start of feminism when radical feminism was seen as the only way of feminist thought, Lorde ideals allowed creative difference to be apart of the feminist movement.
One of the most important ideals that we have come to find with Audre Lorde is seen through her writing is intersectionality and difference.
