While baby boomers and millennials were born in similar world situations, the time period they were raised and grew into adulthood differs greatly. Both boomers and millennials were born into a world during a time of great economic growth. The boomers were born into a world where there was greater peace due to the end of WWII. Millennials were born into a world where technology advanced rapidly, and the internet became more widely available to the public. The growing economy is attributed to both generations being raised with a wealth of opportunity when it comes to advanced learning and higher-income jobs. Baby boomers, who were born between 1946 and 1964, grew up in a time after post WWII and they are known for their hard work methods, loyalty, and commitment to their families. For baby boomers, stability, security, and traditional values are important. They are usually more conservative in their beliefs and attitudes towards social issues such as marriage, gender roles, and religion, like old-school traditions. Millennials, born between 1981 and 1996, are a generation influenced by technology, and are known for their creativity and hunger for work-life balance. Millennials like to be independent, flexible, and different. They tend to be more open-minded in their beliefs and attitudes towards social issues such as gender equality and environmental protection. Millennials also tend to prioritize self-care and personal well-being over old-fashioned success, such as job titles or salaries.
