If America adopts stricter gun policies, mass shootings will, along with rates of firearms deaths, result in a decrease because of weapons being harder to come by. One example of this working is after two mass shootings in Australia, they completely abolished guns. This abolishment resulted in their crime rate decrease as a whole, especially involving tragic mass shootings: “Since 1997, the proportion of Australians who hold a gun license has nearly halved, and the homicide-by-firearm rate has dropped dramatically” (Barry). This shows that abolishing guns and adopting stricter gun laws leads to homicide rates, especially related to mass shootings, dropping dramatically.
