In America, there are already 900 schools that have 4 day school weeks (Education Week). and one of them is a local school in Ohio. The first school that made a four-day school week was in 1973 and the first school in Ohio was North College Hill City School District, which has switched to a four-day school week recently (Fox 8 News). There are many reasons that I believe a 4 day school week would be more beneficial than five. A four-day school week would be better for school and extracurricular balance, school shootings and violence could be lowered, and teachers and students would have a longer weekend. I have dance once a week which is not that big of a deal. But the big deal is showing pigs. I show pigs at the fair and I have to miss a whole week of school which gives me a break, but raising the pigs is time consuming. Besides going to the fair with them, I have to take care of them. I have to do stuff like feed, water, wash, and walk them for six months, but there is more than all that there are some things that might get broken and it is hard work. Adding on chores like laundry, dishes, watching my siblings, picking up the floor, sweeping the floor, and homework, but sometimes I just want to hang out with my friends or call them and I barely have time to so another day off school would give me more free time and would be great. Other than me ranting about hard work, I believe having a four day week will lower the chances of school shootings and stress about shootings because a mentally ill person could be having a bad day that day and be completely manic but then the next day they could have thought it through and are doing better. Also, it will be one less day to worry about school shootings because we will not be there, many students stress about it and so do I. It
