Paul Thompson said, “that six hundred sixty-two districts were using the four-day school week.” Four-day school weeks might sound like fun, but the crime rate and drug use went up a lot. Although higher attendance, the test scores went down, and the crime rate went up. Not all good things happen in a four-day school week.

The higher attendance was good for some schools during a four-day school week. Higher attendance is more common when there are four days of school instead of five because they can have their appointments on Friday. In the four-day school week, the attendance was easier to take because there would be more teachers to teach the kids.

The children in the four-day school week had less time to learn and test. Scores dropped.
