Many people are not questioning their pay therefore do not know if they are getting more or less that their co-workers.
There are a number of catholic social teachings that apply to the topic of the ender pay gap. One of them in particular, is the principle of respect for human dignity. The principle states that everyone is created in the image of good and that everyone is worthy of respect simply by virtue of being a human being. This principle applies as the gender gap is all about women not being equal to men. The principle basically says that there is no reason for anyone to be mistreated whether it be because of disability, poverty, age, lack of success or race and in this case, gender.
To conclude, pay inequity is common, it may not be everywhere for every job, but it is there. A large problem is that not everyone knows if they are making more or less than their co-workers. The pay gap is not small, on average, women are making only 70% of a males pay in the same job. If men and women were making the same wage for the same job, there would be lot of boosts for their company. There are ways to help close the pay gap, but it includes letting everybody know if they are not making the sum they should be. Women deserve equal rights, not
