Introduction In our group problem-solving project, we were assigned into groups of six people. The purpose of the assignment was to select a social problem and discuss a possible solution. Upon deciding on the issue and proposing a solution, we were to create and submit a meeting agenda and meeting minutes. In addition to these two documents, we were to submit an outline of our presentation and deliver our actual presentation via Blackboard Collaborate. Now, my group consisted of the following members: Alexander Valdez, Evelyn Ramirez, Heriberto Zamora, and Victoria Olivarez. Our group would come together to discuss a social issue via Google Hangouts and would meet every Friday at 10 am for two hours. The first hour was dedicated to practicing and making any last minute necessary changes, while the other hour was dedicated for the actual presentation. However, despite meeting virtually, our group experienced the same overall group process as outline in the textbook. Despite there being stages of disagreement, our group selected to address the issue of low Hispanic college completion rates. Specifically, we addressed how the former issue is a problem nationwide, but particularly within the Lone Star State and proposed a solution where high schools would play a primary role. Specifically, no member demonstrated individual roles; everyone demonstrated task roles accompanied by a few social roles. Because of this, everyone was skilled at facilitating group interaction. For instance, both Evelyn Ramirez and Victoria Olivarez, displayed the task roles of contributor, elaborator, and recorder while Heriberto Zamora and Alexander Valdez both took on the task roles of information seeker, information giver, and contributor.
