Harriet Tubman was a woman who was part of the abolition movement. She worked for the underground railroads. She also freed many slaves. I wrote about her because I think she is a very important woman. She can inspire and inspire many women to this day. Because he was so brave when she was alive. She made a very big difference in so many people's lives. Which I believe is important because a lot of people wouldn't be able to do the things she has done. Still, to this day people talk about her and write about her because she is in history books and articles because of the things she has done.

Have you ever wondered about enslaved people? Have they ever tried to escape? Well, Harriet Tubman is a perfect example. Harriet Tubman was an African American born into slavery. Harriet was also known as Moses. She was born in March 1822. By the age of six, she was working. She got married in 1844 when she was 22 years old. “Harriet’s original name was Araminta Ross, (likely after her mom).”

Harriet Tubman did many things in her lifetime. She is most famous for freeing herself and eleven other slaves. Harriet and the slaves traveled from Maryland to Canada together and helped free around three hundred slaves. Harriet was one of the most famous people from the Underground Railroad. During the rival war, Harriet worked for the union as a cook, a nurse, and a spy.” She settled in New York with her husband Nelson.
