By: Kris S. Sleep is one of the most important roles in life and you spend ⅓ of your life doing it. Most people have to attend day care, school, and work and waking up can be dreadful, especially for teenagers. You usually wake up as early as 6:00 A.M and end up not getting enough sleep, then have to go to your daily occupations from the very morning. You might ask yourself, can’t you just go to sleep earlier? But that is hard to accomplish for adolescents because of their schedules’. Ever wish you could just get at least one more hour of sleep? That is why there should be a later school start time at Jefferson Junior High.
To begin, Jefferson should have a later school start time because it will reduce absenteeism or tardiness. To back up this idea, according to sleepfoundation.org, “Schools should be encouraged to push back their start times to at least 8:30 a.m- a schedule more in tune with adolescents biological sleep patterns and more closely resembling the adult work day.” Correspondingly, most sleep experts say that adolescents …show more content…
