“Where there is no struggle, there is no strength,” Oprah Winfrey once said. When people are in a crisis, they do nothing but react, whether they remain calm or are a mess. There are 3 different strengths a person can have when in an inconvenient situation and they are mental strength, physical strength, and emotional strength. Every person fits into one of these categories, but the two most important factors for improving people's chances of survival are physical and mental strength.

Everybody’s bodies and minds are connected, so when people are in an unpleasant situation, their minds and bodies will instantly click in and find ways to help them get to safety and how they can solve their problem. In the biography Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, the author states “He had to devise something that could edge up the patch area so the glue would stick. He pondered the problem, then picked up the brass mirror he had used to hail the bomber.” (Hillenbrand 26). This shows that mentally, Louie showed resilience by finding a solution to the problem under pressure. This also shows physical strength too, because when Louie used the brass mirror to help with the glue, it shows that he has dexterity and knows what to do with the mirror.
