When I was a little kid I lived next to a school that had a variety of sports to play during school. After school, when I was at primary I really enjoyed playing dodgeball and soccer a lot. I liked them because I enjoyed running around and doing the physical side of sports, I also liked doing other physical activities like cricket, cross country, and swimming.

I was short so my family assumed that I wouldn't play basketball and encouraged me to play soccer instead. As I got to high school I started to put myself out there and play other sports and other activities in Napier. All Maori boys wanna be an All Black, but I chose differently. I wanted to be like Michael Jordan, I wanted to be as good as Michael Jordan, I wanted to be a basketball player.

When I was a little boy I always use to watch Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls play every week. My mum thought I like and watched rugby, she also wanted me to play rugby but I didn't

My uncle also influenced me to play basketball as much as watching Michael Jordan play. There were a few barriers in the way of me playing basketball at intermediate or primary, transport was one of the barriers that I had because I have a lot of brothers and sisters who all played sport as well. The assumption would be that because I liked watching BBall so much when I was young that I would play when I got older. Basketball is a sport we'll known around the world and in New Zealand as we have a association called NBL that New Zealand is under. My family supported me financially and transported me to
