Mutual trust is not just between you and your soldiers. It must be through the entire chain of command; having this trust in everyone will guarantee a successful and smooth mission with minimum issues. Second, a shared understanding is crucial to mission command. Having a group of people with different ways to handle an objective can be stressful and confusing; this is why it is important for everyone to have a shared understanding. Having a shared understanding as a leader shows you are willing to sacrifice your own thought process to listen to others, regardless of rank or seniority. When you have a shared understanding, you have a higher chance of successful missions and objectives. Shared understanding is also a great way to have others give different ideas and think more critically about situations and how to overcome those problems with different outcomes. It also encourages discussions in areas where two parties disagree to come together and work together to get the job done. Shared understanding like trust requires time to establish and as a leader you should not think it will happen automatically, you must have open and transparent communication not only with the other leaders
