To be a leader takes a lot of courage and strength. You have to be willing to put yourself on the spot and have the ability to stand up for others if the time comes. A lot of people are leaders and you may not even recognize it. For example, the captain of a sports team is a leader, a teacher is a leader, even your parents can be leaders. All of these people teach others either how to do something, or a life lesson. In my life, the biggest leaders I have is probably my parents. They have taught me about everything I know and how to be an extravagant person. A leader is someone who is strong-willed and strong-minded. They are someone who is confident and honest. I want to be more outgoing and not as shy, so what I am doing to accomplish that is joining leadership next year and hope that that will help me come out of my shell and open up to people. Being a leader isn't necessarily getting up in front of a group of people and giving a speech, it is someone who is reliable and trustworthy that you can count on for anything. A leader is also someone who is willing to make a commitment to help other people. They should always have a positive attitude and lots of creativity. Decision-making comes along with that as well.
