During this semester I felt like I have learned quite a bit about different approaches of writing and presenting. I also feel like through this course I was able to step out of my comfort zone to try out new methods of arranging information through my essays and presentations to the class. I have fortunately been able to attend every class this semester without fail and even though I might be quite shy, I have tried to participate in class discussion and class activities. I especially liked participating in the library session we took part in, being able to work in groups helped to encourage me to share my ideas in class and work with the other students. For my post I chose two sources from the side I most aligned with including articles from the Washington Post and NBC. Both articles took positions against the reauthorization of Section 702 and both used various modes of persuasion to make their arguments. When looking at these articles I evaluated their usage of logos, ethos, and pathos. I also considered any fallacies made that might hamper their argument. The freedom from this class felt engaging and unlike the other classes allowed me to try out different styles of writing that would not have been allowed before. I also believe that there are benefits to the freedom of being the steward of your own grades. Instead of trying to impress the teacher, I am now trying to impress myself, which I find to be more motivating. I also learned in this class the uses of multimodal media and its ability to reach a wider audience. Unlike traditional papers I could add photos and in-text links that lead directly to my sources. I could also add tags relating to the topic and subject of my writing to help readers find my post. Another form of media used in class was presentations. Through presentations I could present my finding and ideas to the class and receive instant feedback. I took a good amount of time trying to compartmentalize my essays into separate slides for easier understanding. In my first presentation I was very nervous and had a hard time speaking comfortably, but after a while I eventually gained more confidence to present in front of the class with more ease. What really interested me about the presentations was the different platforms we
