CONSTRUCTED RESPONSE 1.

The one-child policy is not a good idea. It has ruined peoples lives who wanted more than one kid and it put stress on children that had to take care of their families alone. It also ruined people's childhood who wanted to not feel alone and have another sibling they can count on. It made some kids feel useless and overwhelmed, which caused things to happen.

The one child policy made kids and people worried and stressed about elders that they had within the family. The policy makes children take care of their families that are vulnerable. Children have to worry about violence and physical abuse. This puts a lot of stress and maturity on the children who have more than one elder in their family or a mom thats getting old. A quote from the One Child Policy reading says, "To enforce a policy that is so extreme and unpopular for families who relied on children for labor and old age support, physical abuse, and violence would be inevitable." This made me wonder if they couldve done something to change the one child policy to peoples preference so kids that young didnt have to be stressed

Xiao started hurting herself physically because she was overwhelmed and wished that all the attention got put on another sibling she would have had if the policy wasn't a thing. In the document from the One Child Policy, a quote that Xiao says is, "I used to cut myself on my wrist after being yelled at by my mom and my dad because I didn't know who I should talk to or turn to." Xiao Xiao also said, "I wish I had a brother or a sister to share all the attention." Xiao Xiao didnt know who to talk to and its like she felt vulnerable with her parents and she couldnt do as much stuff as she wanted to because the attention was always on her.
