China's attempt to control the population with a "One-Child Policy" was a broad experiment not expected. Mao Zedong believes couples should wait to get married and wait even longer to have kids. Once they did, they had very few children. The big question is if this policy is a good choice. This policy had many cons in the process and after math, including the restricted choice of family size, children's depression, and declining fertility rates.
