Yes, China was benefited by the one child policy, because it helped solve most economic problems. In 1994, China introduced the one child policy to attempt to help with the overpopulation problem.

The main reason China was benefitted by the policy is because it reduced water pollution by 30.8% and sulfur dioxide emissions by 17.6%. "Population controls have kept sulfur dioxide emissions down by 17.6% and water pollution by 30.8%" (Document C). One argument that could be brought up is that it hurts families ability to take care of their parents when they grow old; however, the benefits severely outweigh the negatives.

The second reason the one child policy benefited China, is that it gave women economic opportunities.
