Have you heard of the one child policy? I didn't think so, either. The one child policy was a rule in china that stated you could not have more than 1 kid, because china at the time had a rapidly growing population, so they tried to slow it down using this new policy. Was this new policy a good idea, did it in the end help reduce the population of China, and slow down birth rates? No no it did not it was a horrible idea by the Chinese government. It did not reduce population or reduce birth rates, the children of China hated it, and as it went on people couldn't support their family.

The reason it was such a bad idea is that it didn't even do its job. In (document A) the chart shows that china's population is still expected to rise until 2030. they started the policy in the 1980s and after that the population almost doubled by the next decade. That shows right there that it was use less they were forcing there people to do something that didnt change anything it hurt alot of people believe it or not and it did absoultly nothing. …show more content…
