I arrived to the U.S at the age of nineteen years old without my parents. At that time, my family didn’t have the necessary papers to enter the country, and not enough money for everyone to leave. Therefore, to test my skills I took the GED test completely in English a year after my arrival. This was to prove my knowledge, and skills due to the fact that I had never taken a test in English. During that time, I couldn’t register in college because the process for my papers was not finish, and I worked full time to support my family. Despite the difficulties I went through, with my job I was able to learn and grow more as a person because my work is not possible without cooperation and teamwork. On top of that, I had the opportunity to explore what type of profession I wanted to pursue. For that reason, I started shadowing a doctor who taught me the value of compassion, care, and commitment. I turned my situation in an opportunity to improve myself, and after three years waiting for my papers I was able to start my college
