When it came to my work ethic in high school I defiantly had my ups and downs. School was something that did not always come easy to me. Whether it was having to work harder get extra help or even just staying focused I always felt like It took more effort. Schoolwork was something I always put off until the last minute until I knew I had no choice but to do the assignment. I was always found other things like being with my friends was more important. At this time I did not really understand the importance of a good education. Instead of putting in the effort I would always look for the easy way out. I think the biggest problem was that I did not even understand why I was doing all this work because I did not know what I was going to do next once I graduated.
Because I attended a smaller school the teachers knew the student better and it was not a big deal to try to get help on the assignments. From time to time I had this one teacher who would pull me aside from class and help me out with my work. I had told her that I wanted to find something for next year that I would enjoy doing. We had started talking about my plan for next year and what I wanted to do. Just by talking about it I started to see that their where options. I explained how I enjoyed film and was thinking about pursuing a carrier in it. She thought that it was a good Idea and started to help me find a way to make that possible for next year. This is when I found out that Columbus State University had a film program were I could attend School and also work towards my film certificate. When I found this out I was very exited because I knew I finally had a plan in mind for the next year. That’s when I decided I would make this my goal and applied for Columbus State
