Almost all of the time, making something illegal simply makes it unregulated and under the table. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that the “Lack of access to safe, timely, affordable and respectful abortion care is a critical public health and human rights issue”. A topic like this making it’s way on the WHO radar is very important, and is not something that should ever be taken lightly or as conspiracy. To further my argument that illegality doesn’t create regulation, the WHO also states “Restriction access to abortion does not reduce the number of abortions.” What this means is that the abortions don’t stop at all, they simply happen illegally, and dangerously. Instead of people using medication perfectly designed to create a quick and painless abortion, people use whatever traumatizing tools they can, and they pay people willing to do it illegally instead of training doctors. All in all, the issue of abortion in America should be kept to a pro-choice standpoint, no matter what. There needs to continue to be safe ways to get abortions, keeping the current regulations we have instead of moving them to under the table
