If the community have high level crime rates then less good markets will want to open up because they will be scared of being robbed. Also less people may want to come into the low income communities to help educate them on good eating habits because they are scared of being harmed too (Coreil, 2009). The safest place to host programs will be at schools or after school centers such as the YMCA. Unfortunately if people are scared to come outside then they will not be willing to participant within educational programs. Also due to the high levels of crime it will be harder to get people motivated about exercising outside and hosting health walks around the community. The health inequality gap also contributes to sharing and caring among the country. The bigger the gap the less people are willing to share and care among each other. Sharing and caring is the foundation of good health because people are willing to help the less fortunate which results to improving health. When there is no sharing caring such as within the U.S then people are more willing to judge one another on what one may lack verses helping. It’s sad to see that people are more prone to judge and mistreat each other just because of different environments. As mentioned previously the government limits the resources within low income communities in which dictates their health outcomes. By the government not allowing the people in low income communities to have the same resources just because of the bad living environment they are increasing obesity rates. By the government increasing the barriers in low income communities they are also increasing the health inequality gap between the rich and the poor. They are making the poor more poor and the rich more rich. More fast food places are being built and less healthy markets are willing to open due to high crime in low income communities.
