As a nurse, that individual is responsible for complex care, problem solving and critical thinking. They much have practical knowledge of many different types of drugs, dosages, interactions as well as having their own clinical judgement when it comes to drug administration. Nursing accountability for errors falls upon not only their individual actions but also those whose professions fall under their supervision such as LPN’s and UAP’s. When a medical error does occur it is the ethical responsibility of the nurse to report it immediately with a full report of all events. These types of reports are meant to ensure these types of mistakes are properly addressed and investigated to prevent harm from other patients that may be in similar situations. (NURSING
