Nothing is being done about this major problem, all of this blood is not just in the hands of the people that took them, it's also in the hands of the people who aren’t doing anything to stop them. Now all of these children don’t get to live out their lives, they don’t get to see what could’ve been. Their hopes, their dreams, and their future, were taken from their lives. My next reason is the problem of women being shot by their significant others and family members. One girl or woman is shot every eleven minutes by their significant other or a family member. If you really think about it, doesn't it sound crazy that when every eleven minutes a girl is killed, every eleven minutes an innocent life is lost by the pull of a trigger, and we still allow them into our homes? 47,000 killed in 2020 alone, that's about 128 girls and women per day. These women are mothers and daughters, and even if some of these women weren’t the best people, maybe they did something wrong and made mistakes, but no one deserves to die. I think that it is insane that people can just have guns in their house or their car, a deadly weapon just sitting there waiting to be used. People can walk into a store and think, maybe I should buy a gun today. You might say people have it for protection, but protection from who? The other person with a gun? It is a nasty, deadly circle. And the solution to ending it is right in front of our faces, and of course it is harder than it sounds it always is, but we should at least try. What are we doing to stop it? Making a speech, maybe donating a little money to the people who were affected, after the fact. That is good and all but what is that doing for the people whose lives were turned upside down, the people who lost the most important people, the ones who lost their lives? We need prevention, and we get that with more gun control. I think there should be more gun control, because of school shootings, women being shot by significant others, and the need to keep guns out of the wrong hands. In the end, innocent people do not need to die, because of a problem that we have the solution to. We just won’t do it because we want to own a gun and keep it in our
