It is highly likely that if school starts later that school will end later. This affects sports and other activities that happen after school. There would be less time to practice and have games when it is light outside. Less time for daylight would result in fighting for who deserves to play most. Eventually, some of the sports would have to be canceled. Less time for daylight could also result in a student having to leave class early to compete, missing important information (“Eight Major”). Another issue with later start times is less time in class. Less time in class could result in the students having more homework at night. This could lead to the students staying up late to finish their homework and not getting enough sleep. With later start times also comes the chance that because school starts later, students will go to bed later. This would just bring us back to the issue of sleep deprivation.
