As of 2020, 42.3 million people are in poverty and the only way to reverse these effects is by raising the minimum wage. Many people may disagree with raising the minimum wage, but the truth is that it should be raised. Although there are many reasons to keep a minimum wage of 7.25, there are also many reasons why it should be raised. There will be societal and economic benefits, it will also help families with children and families with children. Raising does not only specifically help those in poverty, it helps everyone. Raising the minimum wage benefits more than pay. In many ways, raising the minimum wage will benefit someone’s mental health. Raising the minimum wage would benefit a person’s mental health by decreasing financial stress.
