The social determinants of health might contribute to these disparities in health status/health outcomes by not educating the population on the symptoms of HIV or educate them there are ways to prevent HIV and reduce the risks of contracting it, such as, using a condom or remaining abstinent. Many people can have difficulty understanding this, and it is important to have translators o brochures with more information in different languages. Another social determinant of health that might contribute to this is if a person does not have health insurance or does not have access to resources and services. It is difficult to get treatment without health insurance or access to services.
