Our Lady of the Lake University is about to embark on a yearlong campaign to raise money for South San Antonio communities. In order to achieve the highest yield possible, the campaign needs direction and meaning; a Promotional Strategy. Strategy in many ways can be interpreted as direction of guidance, we need to have step-by- step procedures in place to utilize all our available resources at their highest capacity.
In order to establish direction and set the precedence for a solid Promotional Strategy, one can utilize their SWOT analysis results to help coordinate effective tactics and will hold positive results. The objective we seek to accomplish is acquiring vast amounts of market share, in order to obtain those markets donations. The method to achieve this through is communication. When communities hear the word “promotion” they automatically think about advertising; when in reality advertising us the most popular and best understood method of promotion. One of the Promotional Objectives we are trying to get across is that OLLUs Big Give is focus to help OUR community. In most fund raisers, the donor will rarely see where their donation is allocated and if made a change. Due to this, our second tactic in place will be Personal Selling. This tactic uses its people to get the word across; this could be through word-of-mouth, utilizing various social media platforms, to even distributing pamphlets at events where OLLU is present. There is no better way to promote OLLU than by people who are passionate and love the institution they represent and truly understand the big picture behind all the advertising and promoting; which is raising awareness about the Big Give and how it truly makes a change to the South Texas
