Advice for college freshmen and people that haven’t figured out how to college just yet.
1. Go to class
Yes, this is obvious, but it's easier said than done. The weather gets cold, your bed feels great, and all the class PowerPoints are online anyway. Amirite? But why pay thousands of dollars to not do what you came here for in the first place? Go to class kids; your GPA will thank you later.
2. Buy a rolling laundry hamper
I know the last thing you’re thinking about when getting ready for school is laundry, but laundry day is important. Your mom is no longer there to do it for you and it can get heavy hauling a 10 pound sack up and down the hallways of your dorm. Invest in a rolling laundry hamper to …show more content…
Also, as soon as you get your syllabi, write down every assignment so there won’t be any confusion later in the semester.
4. Talk to your professors
This means going to their office and asking questions as soon as you need it. This can be awkward, but it can also be just what you need to finally understand your classwork. Go to your professors' offices hours as soon as you need to. Don't wait! They are here to help you and are getting paid regardless, so you may as well put them to work. I’ve gone to office hours plenty of times and I have seen tremendous improvements in my grades because of this.

Be a well-rounded student. Just remember, do everything in moderation. You don't have to go to every event hosted on …show more content…
Don’t over pack!
To pack or not to pack? That is the question. It will be hard deciding what to pack for school, I can’t even lie. Your dorm room doesn't have enough space for all the clothes you have at home. Try to narrow down your options based on the seasons (depending on how close or far you are from home). Also, take into consideration the amount of free t-shirts you'll be getting during your university's welcome week festivities and how much shopping you will be doing with your future CBFF (college best friend forever).
7. Search for the best deals on books
Book stores are bigger scammers than Joanne. Those “required books” that you need for your classes are going to cost an arm and a leg. Sometimes, you won’t have any choice but to purchase them from your university’s book store (ugh). However, if you can buy them online, or from other students, do it.
8. There will be other parties
There's always a party going on somewhere. If you miss one, there will be another tomorrow. So go do your work that’s due tonight or do something different with your friends. Also, just because you're in college, does not mean you have to party. Do what you enjoy!
9. Be selfish with your
