What is your idea of the American dream? My idea of the American dream is that many people immigrated to the United States to accomplish their dreams of having a better life and freedom. The hope of having a better life and future for their children. Some experiences most immigrants had where no freedom and not many jobs, not many of these immigrants really have accomplish their dreams because some have pitiful jobs. My first source is Renewing the American dream after 9/11. This source is from the Contemporary: 1939 time period. Lida Mora's experience was working very closely with some Polish-speaking patients and mostly the Spanish-speaking patients. Her dream was part of the network of workers involved in clean-up of …show more content…
This source is from the Realism:Civil War-1914 time period. This source represents ideas and issues within the American dream because people have different ways to advertise many things such as lands and other things. My evidence from this source is " Millions of Acres Iowa and Nebraska Lands for sale 10 years credit by the Burlington and Missouri River R.R.Co. at a 6 per ct. interest and low prices only one-seventh of principal due annually, beginning four years after purchase. 20 per cent. deducted from 10 years price, for cash." The evidence that this source shows is how many people tried very hard to advertise lands for really low price. This source does not connect to my dream because back then everything was way cheaper at a very low price and my dream is "To one day lower the price of everything that is becoming really expensive to buy when needed." The difference between my source and my dream is there are many ways to advertise things and sell them …show more content…
The time period of this source is from the past dreams, her experiences when she first came to the U.S. was for more opportunities and overcoming a better life style. My foster mom’s American dream was a good job opportunity or having a better life and being free. This source represents ideas and issues within the American dream because this source explains the life of all the Mexican immigrants. My evidence is “being able to have a better life with less poverty.” This shows that many immigrants suffered a lot because there wasn’t enough money for food, clothes, and education. This source is different from my dream because everything has changed for many immigrants. “Now there are good job opportunities and we live in a calm environment”. For example before they immigrated it was really hard for everyone to get educated and to get food and clothing because they didn’t have enough money for everything and now everything that wasn’t able to get done in other countries has changed now because everything is bought with money you get from work and well education for us is paid by every parent that has to pay
