Also, it brought out my love to play the catcher position. After getting my first try at catcher I knew this was for me. I wanted to catch so bad for my little league team but the veteran catch always started over me and I was put on second base for the majority of the games. When I did see time behind the dish I made sure coach knew that this is where I belonged. Further down the road once I got into modified sports I realized the pace of the game would quicken and become more competitive. Knowing this I increased my workload at practice and really busted my butt to try and impress the coaches. Absolutely thrilled, I got the opportunity to be moved up to be eighth grade team when I was in seventh grade. I could not believe it! Inside I was so proud of myself. The best part was telling my father that I had been moved up to the eighth grade team and seeing the smile on his face along with his excited reaction meant everything to me.
