If the school day started later less students wouldn’t sleep in class and fail their classes. Students will do better in classes and have a better chance to pass tests. According to Kyla Wahlstrom “ Academic performance outcomes, including grades earned in core subject areas of math, English, science and social studies, plus performance on state and national achievement tests, attendance rates and reduced tardiness show significantly positive improvement with the later start times of 8:35 AM or later.”(Wahlstrom 23) Having later times will improve many students grades. Students will be able to study in the morning and will be able to pass their tests.
Many students have experience in having a change in metabolism, memory loss, poor self-esteem, and also in aggression.
In conclusion, having late start in high schools will increase in grades and academic performances. Decrease in tardies, and also an increase in grades. Students will do better if they had late start. There would be a decrease in motor vehicle crashes, students would be more
