1. According to your reading, when does an issue of diversity exist in an organization?

Diversity exists when companies hire employees with different backgrounds who each have or offer different experiences. Diversity issues in an organization when males advance & females do not. This is described & defined as a glass ceiling. When companies impose these barriers, it is not only unethical, against EEO, & Affirmative Action but it becomes an issue of diversity as well. When women learn that a company is only hiring females to present a diverse image it will make it harder for that company to hire females. Another issue would be communication. How does diversity differ from EEO and Affirmative Action?

Diversity is different from EEO & Affirmative action just by the definition of diversity. Diversity is broader than race, religion, gender, age, culture, etc. Whereas EEO & Affirmative Action no is excluded or prevents discrimination. EEO & Affirmative Action a legally mandated which means all businesses, companies, & corporations must follow. Diversity is not legally mandated which means that a business doesn’t not have to show diversity amongst its employees. A company can choose to be diverse or not.

Which is why it is crucial that yearly, maybe even quarterly analysis of all training programs are assessed to see if their needs to be improvements made. When testing potential employees before hire is conducted it needs to be offered to all potential employees. This fails when companies only offer it to potential employees that they do not want to hire. The test needs to be un-bias & also offer skill based questions. When a test is bias & not skill based then any training offered will fail or be a waste of time to any
