As I entered the classroom, I noticed one boy was sitting on the carpet near the entrance away from the rest of the students. As I stayed longer I gathered that the boy was in trouble for talking out of turn multiple times and therefore was under “reset” mode. This meant that the student was not allowed to interact with other students or the teacher and could not participate in any activity unless and until he stayed silent and obeyed all class rules. During the reading session, any student who talked without their turns, or stood up unnecessarily or distracted the students and interrupted the story in any way were politely warned by the teacher.
