For instance, on several occasions Harriet Tubman risked her life escorting runaway slaves on the Underground Railroad. Nevertheless, she acted heroic because she knew the consequences of being caught helping runaway slaves escape, and with proper understanding of this, she still decided that she would guide the runaway slaves to the North in order for them to achieve freedom. Additionally, Harriet Tubman continued escorting runaway slaves although she had a bounty on her worth forty thousand dollars dead or alive. However, she put the other runaway slaves before herself and led them to a new life, only a heroine like Harriet would be able to achieve such a goal. Likewise, Harriet understood freedom’s effect on a human being, so she escorted eleven slaves in one trip in order for those few people to live a new life. She was also heroic because she knew that hiding eleven slaves would attract a lot of attention, but ultimately Harriet prevailed. First, due to her ability to prevail against all odds, Harriet Tubman was elected to work as a civil union spy under the aid of Abraham Lincoln. Similarly, during Harriet Tubman’s time as an Underground Railroad conductor, she was able to escort over 300 slaves out of the south, and she was able to successfully guide them to freedom. Another achievement she attained included her courageous trips to the south. She was able to make it into the South and escort slaves away from slavery approximately nineteen times. This humbling achievement could not have been performed by an ordinary human being, only a specific heroine would be able to perform such a difficult task. Also, another honor Harriet was awarded with occurred in Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania, she was able to speak to a large crowd about the effects of slavery and how it was a traumatic experience for anyone who was victimized by it. Lastly, Harriet Tubman is still honored today as one of the most compelling, courageous, and ultimately noble heroines to ever walk the Earth.
