One primary tool for an effective leader is a plan for success. The program includes personal and professional leadership development strategies for improvement. This essay discusses my personal plans and goals for my future and my leadership style. It also reflects on the foundational experiences, which have helped shape the leader that I am and will become in the future.

As a leader who believes in learning and development of individuals, my vision is to continually motivate and inspire my team so that they vale excellence. I am always ready to take responsibility for my actions, and I am also willing to take some for the team that I lead. Having the will to be held accountable for my actions or even the actions of my team creates a respectful and meaningful team atmosphere. Through experiences I have had in the past, I have learned that a person earns greater respect from the public when they own up to their mistakes. Doing this helps me learn, grow too, as an accountable leader and gives a signal that I am willing to stand up for the people I lead. Another leadership value that I hold dear is authenticity. My consistency, as well as transparency in actions, values, and beliefs, signals an authentic person. In my view, integrating principles and values to create a purposeful life in addition to contributing to the growth of others shows the qualities of an effective leader. Wisdom is also a core leadership value. I want to have an in-depth understanding of human dynamics. When I do so, I will be able to balance the interests of all stakeholders when making decisions. Such a value is helpful in ensuring long-term decision-making. I will respect others and myself regardless of their differences. I believe that treating others with empathy, compassion, and dignity is fundamental to earning respect. People tend to follow the practices of leaders that they respect more than the leaders they do not respect. A leader must have courage. I will demonstrate my courage through possessing the strength of self and act with contentment on behalf of the people that I lead.
