Firstly, we compared the three stimuli and we collectively chose the visual stimulus as for the audio stimulus, the sounds were indistinguishable, in addition, the group did not have correlating ideas to what the stimulus presented. The written stimulus also presented this issue therefore we chose the visual stimuli. Additionally, the visual stimuli had clear foci. We firstly chose the audio stimulus, we created a tableau which was a confusing scene of gorillas killing a woman. As a group, we decided against the audio stimulus, as it did not evoke a combined, precise reaction in our group. For our stimulus, we chose the visual stimulus of “Scream” by Edvard Munch. From the painting, we decided to all make an individual mind map from our initial reaction, to create a larger, more detailed, group mind map. But since our scene did not reflect anything to do with horror, we decided to change the scene to thriller. We had also added comedy to the scene to lighten the mood of the performance. We tried to go for neutral colours, it was naturalistic so all black. The theme was also Gang related. However, we contrasted it with one character wearing white. The costume represented what type of character they were like. The Method used to create our characters was hot seating, and according to the hot seating each performer created a character based on the character they had developed during the hot seating. We have structured our performance was cyclical. We foreshadowed the ending by starting our piece with a flashback.
