As a professional adviser, it is imperative to possess robust skills in self-awareness, reflective practice, emotional intelligence, negotiation and conflict resolution. Having and effectively utilising this skill set enables me to develop successful relationships with my staff and more importantly my clients.
These skills facilitates in the way I communicate and handle the different scenarios that I am presented with on a day to day basis and allows for a more profound engagement between myself, my clients and my business.
By displaying competence in self-awareness, the interactions I have with my clients are more laid-back and in turn they feel more comfortable in my presence. I am capable of understanding my own level of knowledge, abilities, attitudes and beliefs and recognise the impact it has on influencing the mindset of my clients. This also affects how I carry myself, the image that is portrayed to my clients as well as a reflection of the brand of the business. By accurately examining my own performance and behaviour, I am able to improve personally and professionally, which benefits me and those I connect with.
