On February 14th, 2018, a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The shooter, Nikolas Cruz, was a former student who had been expelled. Cruz took the lives of 17 innocent people and snuck out of the school during the chaos. He was eventually caught walking down the street and arrested. This marked the 31st school shooting since Columbine in 1999.
School shootings are becoming more and more frequent here in America. Many innocent lives have been lost for no reason at all. After each shooting, there is a lot of debate on what is causing these kids to come into school and gun down their classmates.
