The USA are known for having their very own political rules in a very particular democratic system. American federal government has three parts. They are the Executive (President elected by an electoral college), Legislative (Congres formed by Senate and House of Representatives) and Judicial (Supreme Court and lower Courts). (La je parle des bills) It’s also known to be based on a two-party system (Republicans and democrats). Lobbying also has a very important role to play in this system. Many detractors accuse this two party system and lobbying of hampering the functioning of the democratic activity, we did a research to form our own opinion about it.

The modern political party system in the U.S. is a two-party system dominated by the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. These two parties have won every United States presidential election since 1852 and have controlled the United States Congress to some extent since at least 1856. Historically, there have been few instances in which third party candidates won an election or even had representatives in the senate. In fact among the 57 presidential elections in America the last 36 where won by one of those parties and for the first 10 ones these parties didn’t exist yet.
