Diabetes is an emerging global epidemic that can be traced to a rapid increase in overweight individuals, obesity, and physical inactivity. Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or adequately respond to a need of insulin, a hormone essential in converting sugar, starches, and other foods consumed in order to supply the body energy needed for daily life.
