Would you like to have more and longer break throughout the school year? Hearing the words year round schooling may scare some kids, but it is shown that it reduces abscesses and burnouts (Pearson). Every students has woken up in the morning dreading to get out of bed and go to school. Year round schooling gives students time to recover and recuperate before they return back to school (Pearson). It’s not just students that deal with burnout, but teachers do too. By having year round schooling it would benefit both the students and teachers. By eliminating long breaks from school can improve a student’s academic achievement (DeMucha). Summer is where most of the students’ knowledge is lost. Long summers are known to cause “summer slide” (DeMucha). Summer Slide is a decline of academic skills that have been lost over the summer. With a year round schooling schedule students and teachers will still have a summer break, but it will be less than two months. Overall, year round schooling would benefit all students than the traditional schedule. Year round schooling reduces absences, exhaustion, and burnouts for both students and teachers (Pearson). By having longer and more frequent breaks will help motivate students knowing that they have scheduled breaks that last longer.
