The Boston Massacre happened because colonists lost their jobs and blamed the British soldier. The colonists were throwing snowballs and other objects at the soldiers and one got hit and fired. Five total colonist were killed and many believe that the first one to die was Crispus Attucks.

The purpose of the Boston Massacre to get the British to leave and to have more rights. The colonist didn’t want the British to stay in their homes during times of peace. The colonists were used to having more rights so they didn’t like the idea of having to pay taxes for pretty much everything.
