ahrenheit vs The Modern Day Society.

He realized that he was not as happy as he thought he was, and he wanted a change. In the dystopian society Fahrenheit 451 Montag, the main character, is a firefighter who burns books and anything else that comes his way. While this is the job, he realizes early in the book that this may not be his dream job. Even though Fahrenheit 451 seems very fictional, you may not realize how close our society is to it, especially in the areas of technology and relationships.

Is our society turning into a dystopian future? Many families are on their phones at the dinner table, not even interacting with each other. This is true for many families because so many kids and adults go to dinner or to a baseball game and end up just being on their phones. Fahrenheit is also very different because firefighters burn instead of build and there seems to be no development of phones or iPads in their modern world.

In Fahrenheit 451 there are many differences to the real world; for example, a firefighter burns books and people while in our society, a firefighter uses water and other stuff to put out the fire. However, Fahrenheit is like our society because there are so many serums and medicines to help save people from dying, as it says on page 12.
